The COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment toner is an exfoliating toner with AHA and BHA. BHAs are oil-soluble. They not only act on the surface of the skin but also penetrate more deeply, unclog pores and treat blemishes. That is why BHAs are preferred by people with normal to oily and congested skin. BHAs have natural skin-soothing properties, as well as anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities, and therefore can benefit those prone to redness and rosacea. AHAs are humectants, meaning they can retain moisture, making them preferred for dry and damaged skin. AHAs are derived from natural substances. The combination of these two forms of exfoliation helps to combat imperfections without over-drying the skin.
Water from salix alba (willow) bark: Contains natural salicylic acid that exfoliates and deeply cleanses the pores.
Water from pyrus malus (apple) fruit: Rich in antioxidants and natural acids that help exfoliate and revitalize the skin.
Glycolic acid: An AHA that exfoliates the surface layers of the skin for smoother and more radiant texture.
Betaine salicylate: A BHA that penetrates pores and removes excess sebum and impurities.
Apply the AHA/BHA toner to a cotton pad and glide over the skin in circular motions. You can also pour it into your hands and pat it onto the face. To aid absorption, gently tap with your fingertips. Use daily in the morning and/or evening. In the korean skincare routine, toner is applied after cleansing and before other products. It is recommended to apply sunscreen every day when using chemical exfoliants.
Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use of the glycolic acid toner and consult a doctor. Since it contains exfoliating acids such as AHA, BHA or PHA, it is recommended to use sunscreen during the day to protect the skin, as it may become more sensitive to sun exposure.
